Description complète des menacesExpert
In Cameroon, A. aporoides has been collected in the Douala-Edéa Wildlife Reserve, where patches of forest have been cut for shifting agriculture. Field studies elsewhere in Cameroon, as well as in other countries, have documented A. aporoides from unprotected sites that do not appear to be under human pressure, despite their relative accessibility. These sites are subject to selective logging for timber exploitation, or installation of industrial palm oil plantations. Small-scale activities such as shifting agriculture and collecting firewood also alter gradually the sites where the species occurs. Despite these likely threats, we project that the ongoing loss of its habitat will not induce a continuous decline in the number of subpopulations and mature individuals in the near future.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert

Despite the fact that the habitat of Angraecum aporoides is currently threatened, the species does not yet appear to qualify as threatened under the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria. Angraecum aporoides is easily being grown in shadehouses in Central Africa (Bom Successo in São Tomé, Yaoundé in Cameroon, Libreville, Tchimbélé and the Sibang Arboretum in Gabon), and by some hobbyists.
