Angraecum angustum is known from 20 specimens representing seven subpopulations and five locations. The current population trend of A. angustum is decreasing. Its number of individuals is not known and cannot be estimated since the species is epiphyte.

In Nigeria and for several collection sites in Cameroon, Angraecum angustum occurs in unprotected areas. In addition to logging activities, these sites are under mining threats (i.e Ngovayang area), a situation that leads to the gradually damage of the habitat of A. angustum.

Fieldwork have documented the species within the Campo Ma’an National Park, a protected area in Cameroon that is not under threat and appears well managed. The species is being grown in the Yaoundé shade house in Cameroon. Seed banking is underway for this species in Yaoundé.
