This species experiences continuing decline in EOO, AOO, habitat quality, number of locations and number of mature individuals because of habitat destruction due to forest exploitation, annual fire, mining and shifting cultivation. The type specimen (Alleizette 885) was collected in Ambatovory. In light of urbanization and land use trends in this area (Rice paddies and Eucalyptus plantations), we also consider this subpopulation as extirpated. One subpopulation is known from an unprotected forest (La Mandraka) subjected to selective logging, timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence and tavy (slash-and-burn farming).
