Description complète des menacesExpert

The species is known from 13 subpopulations of which two have probably disappeared: one in Bioko (Mann 646) and the other in Cameroon (Preuss s.n.). Angraecopsis tridens has been recorded in three protected areas: one in Rio Muni (Monte Alén National Park), one in Bioko (Pico Basilio National Park) and the third in Cameroon (Mount Cameroon National Park). Fieldwork also documented the species from unprotected areas in Rio Muni and Cameroon. Some of these sites are easily accessible by local residents and are experiencing a deal of human pressure. The habitat of A. tridens is then under threat due to conversion of forest for small-scale shifting agriculture, grazing lands, collecting of fuel wood for subsistence or crop plantations on Bioko, Mount Cameroon, Mount Mwanenguba and in the Bakossi Mountains.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert

Angraecopsis tridens has been recorded in three protected areas: one in Rio Muni (Monte Alén National Park), one in Bioko (Pico Basile National Park) and the third in Cameroon (Mount Cameroon National Park). It should be introduced into cultivation near its collecting localities, beginning at the CRES site at Nyasoso, for its ex situ conservation. Angraecopsis tridens has been grown in Yaoundé shade house in Cameroon but died after a year.
