Anadelphia trichaeta

There is no specific information about threats to this species, however the bowal habitat in which this species is found is threatened by increases in grazing and as a result there has been an increase in the fire regime over time. Fires are set at during the dry season to promote new growth for grazing (C. Couch pers. obs. Nov. 2016). Bowal is quarried for gravel and it can have significant deposits of bauxite and iron ore which are mined. These hard pan areas are also used for roads and in some areas housing. Inselbergs are under threat from quarrying for road building materials. The collection from Mali is under threat from mining activities and the Sierra Leone collection is historical and there has been much urbanisation in this area (obs. from Google Earth). There is also new housing plots being marked out near the site at Coyah (C. Couch pers. obs. July 2017).

No specific conservation measures or management plan are in place for this species. It does not occur in any protected areas. More information is needed on the size and trends of the population.
