Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There is no specific information about threats to this species, however the bowal habitat in which this species is found is threatened by increases in grazing and as a result there has been an increase in the fire regime over time. Fires are set at during the dry season to promote new growth for grazing (C. Couch pers. obs. 2016). Bowal is quarried for gravel and it can have significant deposits of bauxite and iron ore which are mined. These hard pan areas are also used for roads and in some areas housing. Inselbergs are under threat from quarrying for road building materials. Urbanisation in the Kouroussa area has increased since these species were collected there in 1900.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
There are no specific conservation measures for this species. It has historically been collected at Kouroussa which falls within the boundary of the Haut Niger National Park, though only in the buffer zone. This species requires more information on population and historical sites to be confirmed. It also requires habitat protection on inselbergs and bowal.
