The forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted for e.g. palm oil production (WWF 2018). The general locality information does however, make it uncertain if this particualr part of the island is under threat. The habitat of the outer parts of Gunung Gading Forest Reserve is being degraded due to enchroachment. Depending on where on Gunung Gading this species was found, this may be a present or future threat.
