While the species is only known from one herbarium collection, this collection was made on Gunong Belumut which is situated in a protected area (Endau-Kota Tinggi Wildlife Reserve) (Ridley 1925, ZRC 2019, Protected Planet 2019). This may suggest that the population is small but stable.
