État de la populationExpert
The actual population size and population trend are unknown. This species is, however, considered to be widespread in the forests of Sarawak (Poulsen 2006) and in the hilly areas of Sabah (Lamb et al. 2013). The tree cover loss within the extent of occurrence (GFW 2018) suggests a declining population even if the extent is unknown.

Description complète des menacesExpert
The forests of Borneo are threatened of being logged and converted for e.g. palm oil production (WWF 2018). Over 18% of the tree cover within this species' extent of occurrence has been lost in a 16 year period (GFW 2018).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
Some collections have been made in protected areas such as Gunung Kinabalu National Park and Gunung Mulu National Park in which individuals are under a level of protection. According to BGCI (2018) this species is grown in one ex situ site.
