A. cremnophila is a narrow endemic from the Daloh and Mait escarpment. Given the linear nature of it's habitat, (<7 km² area of occupancy) this amounts to a very small population estimated to number fewer than 250 mature individuals (S. Carter pers. comm.).

The main threat to this species is the erosion of the cliffs it grows on resulting from the deforestation of the Juniperus forest in the area (Thulin 1994).
