Although only one of the recorded localities is under formal protection, a number are on private farmland that has been managed for amenity or conservation. The localities in Mozambique are mostly in rocky areas with a low risk of clearance for agriculture. All Aloes are listed as protected species in Zimbabwe and is included in CITES Appendix II.
