État de la populationExpert
No quantitative population data are available for this species. It is known from two herbarium specimen collections and two observation records dating from 1968 to 2007.
Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is not considered to be threatened at present. Google Earth (2019) imagery indicates that there is extensive intact habitat at both the type locality of Serra Mocuta and at Mt. Pandangoma. In addition, the steep rocky habitat for this species is unlikely to be impacted by human activity as it is of no agricultural value. There is some grazing on Serra Mocuta but this species appears to cope well with moderate grazing pressure (T. Rulkens pers. obs.).

Habitats préférentiels (classification IUCN)

  • 6Rocky areas (eg. inland cliffs, mountain peaks)
Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
No specific conservation measures or management plan are in place for this species and it is not recorded from any protected areas. It is held in one ex situ collection (BGCI 2019).
