Aloe breviscapa is known from lower elevation in the southern part of the Al Madu Mountain range. The habitat in which it occurs if very unfavourable. A route through this region links Erigavo in the west to Hadaaftimo and further on Badhan in the east. It is likely that this route is used by nomadic people to move and graze their animals.
Given that very little is known about the extent of occurrence of this species (three specimens are indicated in the Flora of Somalia, but only two are available to us and have locality information.
