The species is only known from the type locality, where it was collected on 1993.

The species inhabits a lowland forest, restricted in extension by the river banks on the one side and Berevo village on the other. The expansion of agricultural lands is moving at a fast rate (visible from satellite images, Google Earth 2018), so the natural habitat of the species is being reduced. Other activities degrade this ecosystem, such as illegal collection of timber species and logging for charcoal production.
