Aloe ambrensis

The habitat of the species is exposed permanently to human activities such as logging for charcoal and fuel wood production and fire. Logging activities devastates the area as the forest is chopped down for charcoal production and then abandoned for another area to be taken. The species is affected by uncontrolled shifting agriculture fires, which used to be small and not very frequent fires. However, fires are now becoming more frequent because of the increasing human immigration which is causing an increase on unsuitable land management practices. This species is illegally collected from the wild.

All subpopulations are found outside of the protected areas. No ex situ conservation and management plan exist for this species so we recommend to do investigation on those as well as on alternative livelihoods. We also encourage to do research on population (size and trend) and distribution. This species is listed in CITES Appendix II (CITES 2019).
