État de la populationExpert
It is considered a common tree, consisting of 9% of forest trees in the Hyrcanian forest. The population is stable in Iran. There has been some concern for decline in the Caucasus (Fauna Flora International and Global Trees Campaign. 2005).
Description complète des menacesExpert
The loss of vegetation in the Hyrcanian forest has particularly affected the bottom of valleys and plains and the banks and floodplains of river courses where A. subcordata dominates, causing an increase in waterlogging and permanent flooding conditions for long and continuous periods. Although constrained by the new environmental conditions, A. subcordata is able to persist in these conditions (Ghanbary et al. 2012).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
Afforestation programmes focusing on this species are being considered. It has been listed as Vulnerable A2c based on declines in the Caucasus (FFI 2005; Shaw et al. 2014), however, little was known about the population in Iran.
