Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Particularly on Java and the Malaysian peninsula, populations appear to occur in areas of human habitation and populated forest areas. On Borneo, sites appear in populated forest areas, as well as in remote forests. However, the human footprint in these areas appears to be very low. Most orchids in Java are threatened by over-collecting and loss of forest habitat, according to Bali Botanic Garden. Lowland dipterocarp forest in Peninsular Malaysia has been subject to substantial clearance for agriculture, palm oil plantations and rubber in recent decades, according to the Malaysian Forest Research Institute (FRIM), this is likely to prove devastating to species such as this species.

Beaman et al. (2001) reports that this species can also be found at the 170,000 ha Lanjak Entimau Protected Forest (LEWS - wildlife sanctuary) in Sarawak. The population collected in west Java is 3 miles from the 200 km2 Mount Gede Pangrango National Park and 8 miles from the 20 km2 Telaga Wama. There are a number of national parks in Peninsular Malaysia where this species is likely to occur, including the Cameron Highlands, Taman Negara, Bukit Fraser, Bukit Kutu, Templer Park, Sungkai, and Sungai Dusun.
