Agrostis stolonifera is listed in Annex I of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.

EURISCO reports 167 accessions of A. stolonifera held in European genebanks, 61 of which are reported to be of wild or weedy origin. All of these wild accessions originate from Europe in a range of countries, including the Czech Republic, Iceland, Ireland, Poland and Spain (EURISCO Catalogue 2010).
