État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
The species is local and fairly rare where it occurs with a restricted distribution. The trend of the population size is stable in Spain but decreasing in Morocco (Blanca et al. 2011, Anthos 2014).

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species is protected in Spain as it occurs in the National park Sierra Nevada but the species is threatened in Morocco mainly by overgrazing, tourism and deforestation. The species habitat coincide with the areas normally used for winter sports activities and could be a potential threat.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
Agrostis nevadensis is considered Least Concern in the Andalucía Oriental region (Blanca et al. 2011), and all populations in Spain are within the Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada protected area. There are no known conservation measures for the second sub population in Morocco for Agrostis nevadensis. However, the following actions are recommended to protect the species and its habitats in Morocco;
• Protection of the species sites from habitat loss and fragmentation, deforestation, random cutting and trampling.
• Fencing the vulnerable sites and sympathetic management of isolated populations.
• The creation of protected areas to ensure complete regeneration of the species, ecosystems and to restore the quality of wild environments.
• Reduce overgrazing, trampling and the pressure on the species.
