État de la populationExpert
This species is cited as "endemic, very rare" by Onana (2013). There is limited quantitative population data available for this species. However, it is known from one herbarium collection, of four individuals, at one location dating from 2011. Therefore, its population is estimated not to be large and Sainge et al. (2013) suggest that this species' population numbers fewer than 50 individuals.

Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is severely threatened in its only known location. Mt. Kala's forest is fragmented (Fotso et al. 2001), has no conservation or protection status, and is seriously encroached upon by agricultural activities (Sainge et al. 2013). The species' site is less than 25 m away from a dirt road, making it vulnerable to human activities such as agriculture, and plantations can be seen in close proximity to the collection site (Google Earth 2020).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
There are currently no targeted conservation plans or ex situ sites for this species (BGCI 2020). The only known location, Mt. Kala, has no protection status (UNEP-WCMC and IUCN 2020). Further research is needed into the species' current distribution, population status and trends, and life history and ecology. The species has previously been provisionally assessed as Critically Endangered under Criterion D (Sainge et al. 2013).
