Description complète des menacesExpert
Recent collections made as part of our efforts came from areas that are unprotected, easily accessible, and currently experiencing a great deal of human pressure, especially from shifting agriculture, selective logging and timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence. Although the habitat of A. subulatum is under pressure, the species does not appear to qualify as threatened under the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria. While we expect that the human pressure will increase the loss of its habitat and reduce its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO), we do not anticipate a significant decrease of the number of subpopulations within the next five years.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert

Despite the fact that the habitat of Angraecum subulatum is currently threatened, the species does not yet appear to qualify as threatened under the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria. Angraecum subulatum is easily being grown in BR greenhouse at Meise in Belgium, in shadehouses in Central Africa (Yaoundé in Cameroon, Libreville, Tchimbélé and the Sibang Arboretum in Gabon), and by some hobbyists.
