État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There is no information available on population size or trend, but although only recently described, there have been quite a few collections of this species indicating that it is reasonably common where it occurs.
Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
No threats to this species are known, but given its reliance on very wet conditions, any changes to the water regime could impact this species. Most of the known localities are in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and are outside of the protected area network, so there may be threats in this part of the range which have not been reported.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
The species has been recorded from Dzanga-Sangha and Ndoki National Parks (Central African Republic) and from Parc National de Lobéké (Cameroon). No plants are known to be in ex situ cultivation, but as this is a recently described species that is not surprising (BGCI 2018).
Attempts should be made to increase the number of protected areas along the Congo River to protect the unique habitats and species in this area.
Further research into the potential threats to the species are required and ongoing monitoring of the population and habitat trends is required.
