Description complète des menacesExpert
Given the wide range of this species and occurrence in areas where there has been extensive loss of forest habitat, there are a number of threats to the species. Parts of the range in East Africa (coastal Kenya and Tanzania) would have been lost to expanding agriculture and logging, similarly in West and Central Africa (e.g. in Nigeria and Cameroon), plus urban expansion would also have destroyed habitat in places, e.g. the Kribi area in Cameroon. However, given the large range of the species, it is difficult to say what proportion of the whole range might be impacted.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species is known from many protected areas across its very large range. No plants are reported to be in ex situ conservation (BGCI 2018).

Plants and seed should be collected for ex situ conservation. Further research is required to see what proportion of the known range still contains extant plants; the extent of occurrence might be considerably less than what has been mapped for this assessment.
