Some collections have been made in protected areas e.g. Parc National de Korup, Parc National de la Lomami, Parc National d'Odzala-Kokoua, in which parts of the population may be conserved. According to BGCI (2018) this species is grown in two ex situ sites. Reserach and monitoring of the population, threats and habitat is needed to further understand this species' conservation needs.
