There are a number of threats to this species in parts of its range. Habitat is being lost to expanding agriculture and urbanization in some places, and there is ongoing logging. However, the species is able to tolerate some disturbance and does well in secondary forest.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
The species is recorded from a number of protected areas including Mount Cameroon National Park. No plants are known to be grown in ex situ conservation (BGCI 2018).

Plants and seed need to be collected for ex situ conservation and the number of protected areas need to be expanded. The population and habitat trends should be monitored because this species could become more threatened.
