État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There is no information available on population size or trend. This is a small species and may have been over-looked when not in flower; although it is quite distinctive so is unlikely to have been mistaken for other more widespread species. It is likely to be declining outside of the national parks, therefore, the population trend is presumed to be negative.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
The species has been recorded from Mikumi and Udzungwa National Parks and also occurs in a number of small forest reserves (Kigogo Forest Reserve, Udzungwa Scarp Forest Reserve and Luhega Forest Reserve). This species is not reported to be grown in any ex situ botanical collections (BGCI 2018).
Improved management of the protected areas is required and plants and seed should be collected for ex situ conservation. Further field surveys are required to determine the full range of this species and to see how impacted it is by habitat loss.
