Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The forest habitat at a number of sites where this species has been collected historically has been either completely or partially destroyed by a number of different threats, including expanding urbanization, tourist developments, the building of a harbour, expanding agriculture, logging, etc. It is likely that the localities in Nigeria are no longer extant and likewise some of the coastal localities in Cameron, especially around Kribi.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
Recorded to occur in Réserve du Dja (Cameroon) and Lopé National Park (Gabon), but most of the collecting localities appear to be outside of the protected area network. There are no plants recorded to be in ex situ conservation (BGCI 2018).
More efforts are required to ensure both in situ and ex situ conservation of this species. Further field work is required to confirm if the species has been lost from a number of its former localities.
