It has been described as "common" and "frequent" in several countries including Tanzania and Mozambique.
Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Forest loss is occurring throughout Africa. Even though this species is found primarily in forest, the fact that this species is not only a very widespread species, but is also common where it is found, suggests that loss of forest habitat is unlikely to seriously affect the population of this species at present. Individual subpopulations may be under some risk, however, specific information is not available. The species occurs in disturbed areas, so it appears to be tolerant of some level of disturbance. Although this species is used in several countries, harvesting is likely to be sustainable and not a significant threat to the species.
