Aeranthes peyrotii undergoes continuing decline in area of occupancy, habitat extent and quality, number of subpopulations and number of mature individuals because of habitat destruction due to mining activities, selective logging, timber harvesting for small-scale subsistence, slash-and-burn practices (tavy) and bushfire.

Twenty-one collections and two observations (24 occurrences) have been recorded in six protected areas, the Makira Natural Park (one occurrence), the Ankeniheny-Zahamena Natural Resource Corridor (five occurrences), the Mantadia National Park (four occurrences), the Torotorofotsy Protected Area (four occurrences), Analamazaotra National Park (nine occurrences), the Anjozorobe-Angavo Forest Corridor (one occurrence). The species is included in CITES Appendix II. Individuals of this species have been brought into cultivation in Ambatovy and the Ambalabe shade houses.
