The main threat for this species is the expansion of mining activities within mountains of Mindanao. Another would possibly be the destruction of forests due to recreational and tourism activities since Mount Apo and Mount Kitanglad are two of the most popular climbing destinations in the Philippines.

Survey of the threats expansion and its possible population decline is recommended.
