Based on the low number of collections the population is likely to be small. Based on tree cover loss data (GFW 2019) there is a negative population trend.

The species has been recorded to grow epiphytically on trees and would therefore be directly affected by logging. One of the three available herbarium collections (Church et al. 758) was made along a main logging road (ZRC 2019). Around 11% of the tree cover within the extent of occurrence (EOO) was lost between 2000 and 2017 (GFW 2019).
