Commercial logging is threatening the type location (Ooi et al. 2017). Although this is occurring on the other side of the mountain (Ooi et al. 2017) the area is not protected and could cause the species to quickly go into a high level of extinction risk. Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). There are no protected areas in this part of Sarawak (Protected Planet 2018).
