Scaphochlamys pusilla is a hyper endemic and the species is only found in Krau Wildlife Reserve, Pahang (Sam et al. 2010). The subpopulation in the reserve is stable and intact (Y.-Y. Sam pers. obs. 2018).

There is no threat to the subpopulation in Krau Wildlife Reserve, Pahang. The locality is a virgin forest fully protected and managed as a wildlife reserve which is designated for the protection of the environment and the conservation of biological diversity. The reserve is listed in IUCN Management Category IV (Protected Planet 2018).
