État de la populationExpert
The species was first collected at Fraser’s Hill in 1923, and the type remained the only collection from the hill station (Holttum 1950, Sam et al. 2010). The subpopulation in Fraser’s Hill has not been sighted since then. An intensive flora survey in Fraser’s Hill has not recovered this extremely rare species (Kiew 1998). There is a possibility that the subpopulation at the Fraser's Hill might be found in lower elevation. The subpopulation in Krau Wildlife Reserve in Pahang, was discovered in 2007 and this finding has greatly extended its range, from lowland Dipterocarp forest (110–262 m elevation) in Krau Wildlife Reserve to lower montane forest in Fraser’s Hill (1,212 m) (Sam et al. 2010). It is very unusual among the Scaphochlamys species to be found in such large altitudinal range, most are restricted only to a particular habitat. There is a possibility that the subpopulation at the Fraser's Hill might be found in lower elevation.
Description complète des menacesExpert
There is no threat to this species. The subpopulation in Krau Wildlife Reserve, Pahang is stable and well protected. The reserve is designated for the protection of the environment and the conservation of biological diversity and it is listed in IUCN Management Category IV (Protected Planet 2018). Fraser's Hill is also gazetted as a wildlife reserve and it is listed under IUCN Management Category V (Protected Planet 2018). Even though the Fraser's Hill subpopulation has never been collected, there is no known threat to the plants.
