Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). Even though the forest is intact in some parts of the Bau area, other parts have been logged and converted. There are no known protected areas (Protected Planet 2018) to stop the conversion to spread.
