État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There are only two collecting localities documented so far. The population at the forest trail called 'Endemic Trail' is threatened by disturbance because the site is a favourite recreation spot for local people. The clearing of undergrowth is a common practice in most recreation areas. Another population that is near to the road leading to the telecommunication tower on the peak of Bukit Bauk is small and scattered. The possible disturbance is due to the clearing of an adjacent compartment of the forest reserve for the construction of a school that caused deterioration in the forest condition where the plants were found (Sam et al. 2015).

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The area of occupancy (AOO) for Scaphochlamys baukensis is only 8 km2 and it is only known from two locations in Bukit Bauk Forest Reserve. The subpopulation at the forest trail called 'Endemic Trail' is threatened by disturbance because the site is a favourite recreation spot for local people. The clearing of undergrowth is a common practice in most recreation areas. Also the site is very near to the boundary of the reserved forest and housing areas. The possible threats are the edge effects of further development at the boundary. Another subpopulation is near to the road leading to the telecommunication tower at the peak of Bukit Bauk and this population is very small and scattered. The possible disturbance is due to the clearing of an adjacent compartment of the reserved forest for the construction of a school that caused deterioration in the forest condition where the plants were found (Sam et al. 2015). The possible threat is continued deterioration of the forest canopy structure which will have an adverse effect on the survival of the remaining population.
