Considering the low number of collections made of this species it is likely that the population is small. Decline in habitat quality and that the species has not been re-found in the type locality (Ooi et al. 2017) suggests that the population size is decreasing.

Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and converted (WWF 2018) and the species is not only known from protected areas (Ooi et al. 2017, Protected Planet 2020). The species had not been re-found in the type location (Ooi et al. 2017) suggesting that there is a decline in the population size.
