The individuals in the two national parks should be protected, and based on satellite imagery the habitat around the Crocker Range area seem relatively intact. Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted (WWF 2018). This may come to threaten the species in the future.

Two of the three available herbarium collections were made in protected areas; Pulong Tau National Park and Danum Valley Conservation Area/Protection Forest Reserve (ZRC 2018, Protected Planet 2019). This species has not, however, been recorded by BGCI (2018) to be conserved ex situ.
