Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). Satellite imagery (GFW 2019) shows signs of  forest loss and land conversion. By 2017, almost 19% of the tree cover within the extent of occurrence (EOO) had been lost (GFW 2019).
