Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). The habitat in Sungai Imbak Virgin Jungle Reserve may be under a level of protection (Protected Planet 2019), while other parts around the river Imbak (Sungai Imbak) is unprotected and satellite imagery shows signs of habitat degradation (GFW 2019).
