Individuals in Tabin Wildlife Reserve should be under a level of protection while there are more threats along Sungai Sapi. The type of threat will vary depending on where in this area the species is present. Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018) and satellite imagery shows signs of land conversion in the Sungai Sapi Area.
