This species occurs in numerous protected areas including the King Leopold Ranges Conservation Park, Western Australia and Keep River national park in Northern Territory. Seeds have been collected for ex situ storage as part of the Millennium Seed Bank project. It has previously been rated as Least Concern (Dowe 2009).
