The population size of this species is unknown but it is likely that it is relatively stable. At the time when this population was visited, Lau and Lim (2012) noted that the population was found in an undisturbed area which would indicate that the population was stable.

This species is found by walking trails which cause a direct threat through trampling and indirect threat through degradation of habitat quality (Lau 2014).
