Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Habitat destruction has caused an estimated population reduction of 80% in the last 10 years, while the cycad scale (Aulacaspis yasumatsui) is a potential future threat (A. Lindstrom pers. comm.). Subopulations in both Timor-Leste and Nusa Tenggara Timur have suffered from habitat destruction, and while the scale has not been seen in the wild, it is common on cultivated plants of Cycas revoluta (A. Lindstrom pers. comm.). There are, however, several subpopulations in Sumba with little threat or reduction in subpopulations; and no scale has been observed yet.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. An education and awareness programme as well as the long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species. Identification of areas suitable for the protection of natural subpopulations is urgently needed.
