This species is locally common, as they produce seeds and spread fast. We usually found seedlings growing from seeds in every area we surveyed.

In Cambodia it occurs in Kulen Prum Tep Wildlife Sanctuary, and in Viet Nam it occurs in Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park and Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve. The species is in ex situ cultivation in at least two botanical gardens (BGCI 2018).
